I just got back from the IYCA (International Youth Conditioning Association) Summit in Louisville, KY a week ago and will be going back to the Midwest, specifically Columbus, OH and Cincinnati again this weekend for the largest fitness expo known to man…The Arnold Classic.
This is the time of year when all fitness profiteers and fitness enthusiasts converge on the Capital of Ohio and try to fill their goody bags with samples of the latest protein powder, ogle HOT fitness models, and try to catch up with bodybuilders from a bygone era.
Last year I was able to get a nice chat with Lou Ferrigno, who seemed much younger than his 56 years on this earth. He’s still as huge as he’s ever been…and actually looks good. Some of his contemporaries I can’t say the same. The likes of Sergio Oliva aka “The Myth” was a dominant force back in the 1970′s when Arnold was kicking ass and taking names at the Olympia, is no more. The myth stood a meek 5′ 7″ and weighted in at about 160 lbs…if that…but looked good for 66 years old. It’s amazing that when I was young he seemed like a giant mass of humanity when I stood next to him…like I said…a bygone era.
I’m hoping to bring back some great interveiws and footage for you to check out. If you are heading up to Columbus, write me a comment or sent me an e-mail.
