Last week I started giving you a look behind the scenes of how Prograde Nutritional Products are made.  Well today is no different.  CEO Jim Labadie is going to take you through the powder fill as well as the capsule product fill.

I’ve always been kind of a freak about wanting to know how things are made and the process by which it gets done.  I’d like to hear from you if you think this is educational and helpful in making a decision to invest in a nutritional product.  Watch the two videos below and tell me what you think:

Capsule Fill: Prograde Longevity, Men’s VGF 25+, Women’s VGF 25+

I have never really liked the taste of Protein Bars.  Most of the time they taste like I dipped my tongue in a bucket of Spackle…and yes, working in construction I tasted my share of Spackle.

What really is a so-called “health food” doing with all those preservatives, fillers, high fructose corn syrup and my favorite enemy in the world…trans-fats. I always wondered how they got away with that. This doesn’t sound like a health food to me.

My other favorite additive they put in Protein Bars is “Sugar Alcohols” such as maltitol, sorbitol and xylitol to help keep them “Low Carb”.  The funny thing about these ingredients is the Dietetic Association of  America states that exessive amounts of Sorbitol can have a “laxative effect” and can cause disruption in your GI tract (basically gas)…yep, you’ll be the hit of the party!  What does that mean?  That if you are chomping all day on these bars thinking they’re healthy that you better be close to a bathroom and bring plenty of toilet paper.

Well I’m happy to say that my friends over at Prograde Nutrition have developed something that absolutely will replace the “Protein Bar”.  Prograde decided not to create a “Protein Bar” but a “snack bar” called Prograde Cravers that is totally 100% “organic” and taste awesome.  They have literally been called the “Best tasting bars on the planet”

I’m excited about Prograde cravers because they are finally something that I can recommend to my clients, friends and colleagues that are actually healthy and only contain 180 calories (the perfect caloric value for a healthy snack).  I have to tell you I love them and would never recommend something that I wouldn’t eat myself.

Try some of the best tasting snack bars on the planet at Prograde Nutrition and say no to Protein Bars

…I bet you didn’t. Most people don’t even know what Krill are, let alone know that the naturally occurring oil contains large doses of Omega-3 Fatty Acids.

Krill oil also contains an anti-oxidant called astaxanthin (az-tuh-zan-thin), the algae the Krill eat produces the red pigment astaxanthin gives the Krill and other crustaceans like lobster and shrimp their pinkish color.

When we use Krill oil as a supplement we ingest this powerful anti-oxidant.  Obviously you’ve heard that anti-oxidants protect our body’s cells from the damages that free radicals can cause.

Unlike many other anti-oxidants astaxthin crosses the blood-brain barrier, where supposedly it could your eyes, brain and central nervous system from free radical damage…and that’s a good thing.

Krill oil is used very similar to the way you would use a fish oil supplement to help correct your Omega-3 Fatty Acid balance.  Unlike fish oil, Krill doesn’t cause fishy burps or that kinda gross aftertaste you experience as a common side effect from fish oil supplementation.

Krill oil is being studied as I write this as a natural remedy for High Cholesterol.  In one study 120 people were give either Krill oil, fish oil or a placebo.

The study found that Krill oil reduced the participants LDL (bad cholesterol) by 34% and raised the HDL (good cholesterol) by 43.5 % compared to the placebo.  Pretty amazing! The funny thing is the fish oil only reduced LDL by 4.6 % and raised the HDL by 4.2 %.  A nice little side benefit is that Krill also lowered triglycerides.

So why am I telling you all this about Krill Oil. Well because Prograde Nutrition has the best Omega-3 Fatty Acid Product with it’s EFA Icon and it’s chock full of Krill Oil and really does have 47 times the anti-oxidant power than fish oil and lutein…and here’s a couple of other benefits:

  • Promotes fat loss through stabilization of blood sugar levels
  • Improves hearth health by reducing inflammation
  • Reduces joint pain and symptoms related to arthritis
  • Regulates mood and provides relief from PMS symptoms
