Brian Grasso… Stay off the Paved Road
Posted by: | CommentsThere are not many people that I can say impress me with their authenticity… I can count them on one hand. Brian Grasso, founder of the International Youth and Conditioning Association does with out a shadow of a doubt.
I had an opportunity to work with Brian for a little while when he was deciding to take his “brand” a little more personal. Although he was a client on the business side of askROCCO as we prepared him for a motivational performance he did in a suburb of Chicago, I was able to capture this unbelievable moment in time. I’m so glad I did… and I hope you do too.
What really impressed me was that he was able to let himself be who he really was… a real person who cares about people. He was able to take us on a tragic journey with heartfelt agony and bring us back on solid ground in a positive direction.
I implore you to listen to this awe inspiring story of one of the greats in our industry. Thanks Brian.

An Agent for Change…Brian Grasso Interview Part -2
Posted by: | CommentsIn Part 2 of my interview with IYCA Founder Brian Grasso, he touches on how the seeds of the IYCA were planted. Brian discusses his own pain regarding being told he would never play football ever again and how that forced him to look at other opportunities…and how those opportunities blossomed into what is now the most respected “Youth Conditioning” organization on the planet.
I also give my own views of how people should be dealt with when they use the word “can’t”. I’m obviously not as soft spoken as my friend Brian Grasso but as he state’s “I get my point across”.
See why I personally think the fitness industry is the stupidest industry imaginable…next to the radio industry.

Pure Inspiration…an interview with IYCA Founder Brian Grasso

Unimposing as he stands discussing today’s condition of our world’s youth but a man with relevant purpose and bigger then life presence. Brian Grasso is not aggressive in his message as he is soft spoken and stands in a quiet demeanor listening more then he speaks. Each of his words are chosen to communicate his and the IYCA’s mission…to teach fitness professionals fundamentals in youth conditioning with an emphasis on injury prevention.
Every time I have the opportunity to stand next to Brian I am always impressed…and that’s coming from someone who isn’t impressed by anyone…having trained many of the top CEO’s and Celebrities. Not many people have done the research and spent countless hours creating and implementing the correct teaching applications as Brian Grasso. I know this probably sounds like I am paying tribute to a great man…as I believe I am. Like Ghandi, Brians path with be paved with greatness through his actions. I applaud him and ask that you help him become the agent of change I already know he is.

IYCA Summit and Arnold Classic… nearly back to back, and I’ll be there
Posted by: | CommentsMy travel schedule is going to be absolutely crazy for the next three months. My first stop is Louisville, KY for the IYCA International Summit. The IYCA, (International Youth Conditioning Association) headed up by my good friends, Brian Grasso, Pat Rigsby and Nick Berry will have an All-Star cast of speakers at the Historic Brown Hotel to mark this first Annual International Summit.
If you have even the slightest interest in coaching kids then you need to be at this Summit. Not only will some of the best conditioning and skills coaches going to be there to teach cutting edge training…you will also be able to see me…isn’t that worth the price of admission alone? O.K., seriously, if you aren’t going to make it this year, figure out how to make it next year…I’m not kidding!
…and then two weeks later I’ll be in Columbus, OH to be part of the largest fitness and sports festival in the United States…the Arnold Classic. Last year I had the honor to be a presenter at the Women’s Figure and Fitness Show and it was a blast. I’m not sure what role I’ll play this year if any but I know it will be a blast. If you’re going, comment on this blog or send me an e-mail and hopefully we can meet up.
…and now for the video portion of my blog…
