It really couldn’t have happened to a nicer person in the whole world.  Sarah Chapman has won Miss Nevada USA for 2011… and I am so proud of her.

I met Sarah and her Miss California USA 2004 sister, Ellen and mother Beezy at the Miss USA Pageant for the 2009. I don’t think I have ever met or seen a family as close or as humble as the Chapman family is.

After the Miss USA we became friends and she asked me to become her trainer for Miss California USA… I did.  Her dedication was beyond anything I’d expect from a professional athlete… She had passion, courage and a strange tenacity to get the job done and to be the best she could be. I really appreciated that.

This year she was offered a job in Henderson, Nevada and found out she loved the Las Vegas area.  She loves children and became director of a school for little children (she told me what her title was but I really wasn’t paying attention).  She called me up and told me she was giving the USA System one more shot as she entered the Miss Nevada USA Pageant and asked me again to help her with her fitness goals… I again said I would.

As she works towards winning the Miss USA Crown I know that no better person in the world should be Miss USA.  Congratulations Sarah… keep living your dreams.

It’s not often that some type of fitness equipment comes along and impresses me. TRX definitely has.

I was able to try it out at my client Dale Buchanan’s fitness studio, Supreme Ultimate Fitness in Boca Raton and afterward I was hooked. I used manual resistance as my ability to train anyone, anywhere but TRX has easily brought a new dimension to that theory.

I have seen trainers attach TRX to trees, poles and walls… you could probably figure out other places to fasten it to but that’s up to you.

I have to tell you… I love this product. I use it everyday and have no problem telling you about it. TRX will make your “Fitness Life” much simpler.

Check out the video below to see what you can do with it:

Craig Ballantyne always has such cool ways to work your body. We both kinda come from the same place when it comes to finding creative ways to work your body hard.

In today’s Wednesday Workout Tips portion of askROCCO Blog… I direct your attention to my friend Craig Ballantyne’s three favorite ab exercises… even though he gives several variations and makes it more like… 10 ab exercises. Who’s counting any way.

If you have ever done the ab wheel… you know it’s hard. If you haven’t try it then get back to me.

The two exercises he suggests… the Ball Jack Knife and Cross Body Mountain Climber are definitely some of my favorites as well. Watch the video of Craig below and try out these exercises.

One of my clients on the fitness business side of things introduced me to someone and something that I find rather unique and amazing.  His name is Paul Gagne who is nicknamed “MacGuyver” (yes that’s how he spells it) by his contemporaries for being able to create exercises from a toothpick, bubble gum and Q-tip… well maybe that’s a stretch… but not that far.

Paul does seem to create exercises and exercise equipment out of thin air, but that’s not the only thing he does.  He is a Posturologist… I know, what the hell is a Posturologist? Basically it is someone who evaluates your posture through a series of body awareness tests… finds the inadequacies in your musculature… and fixes them to improve your performance in just about everything you do or want to do. Pretty friggin’ cool if you ask me.

The video below does not show anything that has to do with Posturology (those will come) but it does have something that Paul created called a Radical Energy Systems Circuit for the Upper Body.  I tried this circuit out for myself and it Radically kick the living shit out of me.

Take a gander at the video below to witness Paul down at the Half Moon resort in Jamaica performing his Radical Energy Systems Circuit for the Upper Body with his colleagues.

I wanted to post this months ago but basically life and my business got in the way… with that said, I think it’s time I share this with you… 7 months later.

Now Master RKC, (he was a Senior RKC when this was taped) David Whitley teaches my kettlebell not knowing ass how to properly perform a Turkish Get Up.

When I posted Part 1 of this video I got hammered with e-mails from non-RKC people telling me that there way was better, blah, blah, blah and more fuckin’ blah.  In all honesty I would have to tell you I have since seen other so-called kettlebell experts instruct on the Turkish Get Up and it never compares to the “real” expert instruction by Master RKC… David Whitley.

Have a gander.
