lazy-dog-walkerMost people decide to get a dog to enhance their life. Many studies have shown that adding a dog into your life actually increases the chances you’ll live longer and with a better quality of life.

The reasons are different for everyone but increased exercise by having to walk your dog tops the list of almost all the surveys done. Maybe the person in the photo forgot to read the literature…or maybe he got hit on the head when he was young…or maybe he is just the friggin’ laziest pet owner I have ever seen.

No matter what the actual reason is doesn’t explain how someone could consciously say, “come on Sparky!..lets go out”, place a leash on the dog and sit his fat ass in the driver’s seat of his Mitsubishi, pull out of his driveway and drive down the street with his dog in tow.  It must be me because there is something amiss about this whole procedure.

How can someone be that lazy? Well…it never ceases to amazes me at the lengths people will go to be lazy. Why even get a dog if you’re that lazy? Why not get a cat? …or a Gerbil? (they exercise on there own) Maybe it’s a reminder that Gerbils have more sense then he does.  It doesn’t really matter…this guy without a doubt is the “Laziest Pet Owner” in the world!

kittens-stupidIt’s not too often I go about telling people that I’m stupid but I’ve been calling people stupid for years…and I need to fess up.  When it comes to fitness and losing weight fast there aren’t too many smarter than me.

When it comes to renewing subscriptions, paying bills or related concerns…like renewing one of the most important things in my life…my blog domain, there can be no one as stupid as me.  This isn’t self deprecating humor or a chance to take a pot shot at myself…it’s the truth.

If I don’t write it on a calender or make sure one of my assistants hasn’t written it down somewhere I will always forget about it.  Not because I’m forgetful but because I really don’t give a shit for some things.  If it doesn’t interest me like workouts, web stuff or building brands I usually pay some idiotic consequence that causes my fans and followers and bit of stress…and for that I want to say I’m sorry.   You should always be able to get your daily dose of “Rocco”.

I am very thankful that I received over 350 e-mails from concerned readers wondering what happened to askROCCO Blog and why it said it was expired and had some stupid Las Vegas promotion on it.

I just forgot to renew my domain name as I was preparing for my absolutely insane travel schedule for the next several months.  I want again to extend my graditude to all of my readers and have already put certain things in place so it never happens again.  All of you are awesome and I love you for keeping me in check.

crest-spinbrush-proI know this sounds insane but…yes a toothbrush changed my life for the better… a Crest Spinbrush Pro to be exact.

For years I’ve been using a regular manual toothbrush and I tried all different models.  Soft bristles, medium bristles…rip your gums to pieces bristles and none of them ever cleaned my teeth without causing my gums to bleed.

I went to the dentist numerous times to address the hemorrhaging from my gums.  I thought when I got my teeth fixed that it may have caused them to become infected or just plain susceptible to bleeding.  It’s been annoying to say the least and downright painful on some mornings…and I have to tell you it’s just not attractive to be spitting out blood soaked toothpaste foam every morning.

So on the advice of a friend I sprung for the ten dollar Crest Spinbrush and have fell in love with this dental hygeine apparatus.  It’s awesome.  It massages my gums, gets underneath of them, cleans my teeth better then anything manual toothbrush I’ve ever had and it feels good so I’m actually brushing longer.  I find myself brushing more especially after meals.  I always brush after meals but somehow I feel like it’s a treat to go an give the old gums a little rub down.

If you can go pick one up and try it out for yourself.  Now watch my video of me brushing my teeth with my new Crest SpinBrush.

Stick Ups as they are so eloquently called (you’ll know why when you do them) are probably one of my favorite exercises to work your shoulders, upper back and…yes, calves.

The object of this exercise is to reach as high as you possibly can to the sky while you raise up on your toes… and repeat for as many as you can do. I know it seems to easy to be an effective exercise but I promise you…a pleasant surprise awaits you.

Stick ups (or Reach for the Sky) as I called them in my Boot Camps was a favorite of mine to really finish off the shoulders and to add a little more bang to the calves. This is the perfect body weight exercise to add to your home routine.

Watch the video to get a better idea of how to perform this simple but exhausting exercise.

I’m usually not that impressed with women fitness trainers or women fitness enthusiasts. Most of the time I’m just annoyed by the coddling and political correctness that most women in the fitness industry exude. In my experience most women just want to make other women feel good about how fat they are and I get sick (to the point of puking) at the lengths they will go to make sure that no ones feelings are hurt.

So, obviously you would think that I don’t visit too many women’s fitness blogs…and you would be correct…but one women’s fitness blog that I make sure I visit at least (a minimum) of 3 times a week is my good friend Carla Birnberg’s “MizFitOnline.com“. I would have to say in all honesty that MizFitOnline.com is without a doubt one of the most “fun” blogs I visit.  There is never a boring blog post and her followers are very engaged in her message.

Sometimes I have a hard time following because I think there’s a lot of inside women jokes going on but, really I believe it is just my gender that is inhibiting the flow of estrogen based humor that ignites Carla’s blog/website.

I find myself on many occasions wishing I too could be part of the “Bumbling Band” but realize that it is best to watch from the bleachers and observe.

If you are a woman and read my blog regularly I hope that you venture over to “MizFitOnline.com and visit her on a consistant basis.

…and when you’re over there tell her…Rocco sent ya!

Here’s a little sample of what you will see when you visit.
